Office of Personnel Management Director Kay Coles James Announces Carlos Gomez as Special Assistant in the Office of Congressional Relations
Washington, D.C. - Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Kay Coles James announced today the appointment of Carlos Gomez to the position of Special Assistant in OPM's Office of Congressional Relations.
"Carlos is an example of the quality of young talent ready to seize public service opportunities," James said. "His skills will be a tremendous asset to the team as we move into the fall and aggressively work to pass the President's legislative priorities."
Prior to joining OPM, Gomez served as an intern in a congressional office. He also interned with a public relations firm, where he conducted a labor study on the railroad freight industry. Additionally, Gomez worked on the state level as a judicial affairs assistant to the Dean of Students at the University of Massachusetts. Most recently, he advised high school students with learning disabilities on research methods and test taking tools. Mr. Gomez received a Bachelor of Science degree in Government from the University of Redlands.
James was appointed OPM Director in July 2001 by President George W. Bush. Director James is the President's principal advisor in matters of personnel administration for the 1.8 million members of the federal civil service.
