HISTORIC PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT SIGNED TODAY
Washington, D.C. -- As part of the federal government's reinvention effort, management and labor at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management have entered into a Workplace Partnership agreement.
The agreement, which was signed today by Director Jim King, Ty Couey of AFGE Local 32, and Alex Neichey for Bill Everett of AFGE Local 2450 in Boyers, PA, commits management and labor to work in partnership to fulfill OPM's mission of providing human resource management leadership and high quality services to OPM's customers.
As part of the partnership, OPM will provide broad based training starting at the frontline level and continuing through the management ranks. "Training is considered key if employees are to have the skills necessary to increase productivity and customer service," said King.
"Our goal in establishing Workplace Partnership at OPM is to share knowledge, influence, experience, insight and recognition in an atmosphere of teamwork, empowerment and respect," said King, Couey, and Everett in a group statement.
"We seek to make OPM the model agency by encouraging employees to use their skills and talents to the fullest," they concluded.
