U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Announces New Associate Director of Management Services
Retired Army Colonel continues Public Service Career at OPM
Washington, D.C. - U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Linda M. Springer announced Ronald C. Flom as Associate Director for the Management Services Division (MSD). Flom, a retired U.S. Army Colonel, has served as the Acting Associate Director for MSD, a recently reorganized division, which includes Information Services and Chief Information Officer; Contracting, Facilities and Administrative Services; Security and Emergency Actions; Human Capital Management Services; and, Equal Employment Opportunity.
"Ron Flom is a recognized leader with over 30 years of leadership and management experience in diverse organizations," Springer said. "He is an excellent choice to lead this division, and brings with him the great honor of having served our country in the U.S. Army for three decades. He retired from a distinguished military career and continues to excel in civilian/public service as well. OPM is pleased to have him as an integral part of the leadership team."
Prior to being named Associate Director, Flom served two years as OPM Deputy Associate Director for the Center for Contracting, Facilities and Administrative Services and Senior Procurement Executive. Flom joined the OPM team after 29 years of service in the Army. He retired as a colonel and entered public service with extensive acquisition, procurement and human resource management skills and experiences.
In 2002, Flom was awarded the Distinguished Federal Executive of the Year from the Boston Federal Executive Board for sustained extraordinary accomplishment in the managing federal programs.
