Washington, D.C..- Outstanding leadership and service to the Federal Government by career civil servants is being recognized by President George W. An elite group of career members of the Senior Executive Service (SES), Senior-Level (SL) and Scientific and Professional (ST) corps are selected by the President annually for their exceptional leadership, accomplishments and service over an extended period of time.  "Recipients of this award are dedicated to delivering results, and their service is advancing President Bush's agenda for improving the management and performance of the Federal Government," said Springer. "Each of them can be proud of this honor recognizing their achievements."

The Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished Executive and Distinguished Senior Professional may be awarded to no more than one percent of career members of the SES and SL/ST corps and includes a cash award of 35 percent of basic pay.  The Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive and Meritorious Senior Professional may be awarded to no more than five percent of the career SES and SL/ST corps and includes a cash award of 20 percent of basic pay.
