OPM Director Signs Contract With HACU

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Linda M. Springer has signed a new contract with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities to help recruit interns for OPM's Center for Human Capital Management Services.

"OPM is fully committed to giving promising students the work experience they need to prosper once they have graduated," said Springer. "This agreement with HACU will enable OPM to continue to provide students with the opportunity to interact with experienced federal employees and observe their work."

The contract calls for HACU to provide recruitment and screening services for referrals of interns for developmental assignments under its National Internship Program. Specifically, the program is designed to give educational and training opportunities for interns in the fields of accounting, management, statistics, actuarial sciences, information systems, human capital and policy.

"I look forward to working with these motivated interns," said Springer. "I know the experience will enrich their knowledge of what will be expected of them in the ‘working world,' while enriching OPM's diverse workplace."
