OPM Director, Federal Officials and Athletes to Launch Wellness Campaign for Federal Workers

Washington, D.C. -U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director John Berry will promote the Feds Get Fit wellness awareness campaign for Federal employees with a noontime rally on the National Mall on Tuesday, October 27. He will be joined by other Administration officials, athletes and Federal employees in this event.

- USDA Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan

- Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Howard Koh

- Acting Director of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, Rear Admiral Penelope Slade-Sawyer

- Darryl Haley, former NFL player for the New England Patriots and WHUR personality.

- Lorenzo Alexander of the Washington Redskins

What: Announcement of "Feds Get Fit" Wellness Campaign

Noontime rally to announce the campaign, coupled with a fitness walk and wellness expo for Federal workers and their families.

When: Tuesday, October 27, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Afternoon media interviews will be conducted between 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.)

Where: National Mall

(Between 7th Street, NW, and 14th Street, NW)

*Media should report to the media tent located on the National Mall near 7th Street, NW. Satellite vehicles can locate parking at a reserved area on 7th Street, NW, between Madison Drive, NW, and Jefferson Drive, SW, or at other locations on the National Mall.
